DESCRIPTION

The Traffic Coordinator acts as Log Editor for WGN-TV, WGNTV.COM, and WGN Antenna, with responsibility for massaging advertiser separations, timing shows, checking formats, working ahead on upcoming specials, finalizing logs and sending to FLORICAL system. All of this is done in our broadcast computer system (Wide Orbit).

JOB EXPERIENCE

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Receiving, interpreting, and inputting program information from our program department, distributors, production, and news departments. Assuring formats match what was agreed upon and matches what we are airing on our streaming log as well.
Working with sales and sales assistants answering questions regarding commercials, rotations, and special requests.
Working with our other departments to assure a clean look on air once the log is complete and processed.
Maintaining information on past programs and requesting that templates are created for some of our yearly specials.
Managing placement and sponsorships requested from advertisers. Communicating with other departments for billboards and placement.
Acting as backup for the commercial copy as well as special elements needed for advertisers.

REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:

Requires a high-school diploma (college degree preferred) or equivalent related experience.
Must have at least one (1) to two (2) years of experience in TV, radio or with an agency traffic department.
Previous Wide Orbit experience is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a busy environment are required.
