About KMVT:

KMVT is the dominate news source for Twin Falls and Central Idaho. Twin Falls is home to Shoshone Falls, which is 45’ taller than Niagara Falls, and is only a ten minute drive from the television station. The Perrine Bridge, which crosses over the Snake River, is the only man-made structure where BASE jumping is legal. This bridge is almost 500’ above the Snake River itself! Within an hour and a half drive of the station, you’ll find four ski mountains, the City of Rocks National Reserve, Craters of the Moon National Monument, 48’ tall Balanced Rock, the Shoshone Ice Caves, Bruneau Sand Dunes, Jackpot, Nevada and too many unique hiking trails to count! If you are an outdoorsy person, I promise, you will not be bored!!! When the snow melts you can enjoy mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and picnics. Take in views of the massive Snake River Canyon or tee off surrounded by canyon walls and dazzling waterfalls.

Job Summary/Description:

KMVT is looking for the next Weekend Meteorologist/Multi-Media Journalist who will own our brand mission of serving as "Your Hometown Station."

This candidate will produce a forecast for our 9 PM newscast on FOX 14 and the 10 PM Newscast on KMVT over the weekend. Plus, they will fill in during the Rise and Shine Morning Show as well as the Evening Newscast during the week as needed. In addition to putting together a forecast, this candidate will be responsible for digital & social media posts on the weather on all platforms. This candidate will also report three days a week and help with light reporting duties on the weekend. KMVT strives to be the first in Breaking News coverage and we don't shy away from Live Shot Opportunities.

Please note: The primary job responsibilities include but are not limited to the duties listed above:

Qualifications/Requirements:

– Experience in college-level broadcast journalism training
– A college degree in broadcast journalism, degree in Meteorology preferred, or equivalent experience
– Video examples of on-air work
– Ability to lift and carry equipment including tripod, camera, and lights
– Ability to work independently
– Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
– Be willing to work weekends, nights, or any given shift
– Must be able to find enterprise news stories
– Must be able to work under deadlines
– Candidates should also exhibit a good work ethic, strong people skills, the ability to be a team player, and must maintain a professional attitude at all times
