DESCRIPTION

FOX34 News in Lubbock, Texas is looking for a creative, hard-working, energetic storyteller to join our team as associate producer. You will work in an environment that encourages growth and thinking outside the box. Candidate must have proven news-gathering, writing, editing and video skills. Responsibilities include story writing and collaborating with producers, anchors, videojournalists and multi-media journalists to cover pre-planned and breaking news events as part of our four-hour locally focused morning newscast as well as our digital properties/social media.

College degree in journalism or related field is preferred. Related work or internship experience is helpful.

Lubbock is a fast-growing metro of 325,000+ with a strong, stable economy. Cost of living is low. There`s always something to do, including Big 12 Athletics, live music, plays, wineries and breweries, museums, art galleries, triathlons and 5Ks, and much more. Lubbock is home to Texas Tech University, nearly 40,000 students strong with its own vibrant culture. Skiing is four hours west in the mountains of New Mexico, a weekend getaway to DFW or Austin is within driving range. And the airport flies direct to Dallas, Austin, Houston, Vegas, Phoenix and Denver. Our newsrooms encourages growth and development.

Physical requirements include occasionally carrying news equipment, including a camera and tripod, to the scene of news. Most work for this position will be conducted in the newsroom, collaborating with several other team members on a tight deadline. Must be able to operate several types of digital news equipment. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
